Paying for Your Certificate

Students pursuing a certificate are considered "nondegree," a status that is not eligible for federal student aid, including the Federal Direct Stafford Loan program. However, a deferred payment plan is available through the Penn State Bursar. You may also want to consider a private, alternative loan.

Students pursuing a degree and meeting all other eligibility requirements may qualify for financial aid. To see which degrees might be similar to this certificate, view the Related Programs list featured in the Summary box on the program "Overview" page.
