Penn State World Campus has partnered with Penn State’s College of Education to offer you an online Master of Education in Instructional Systems — Educational Technology. This program is designed to improve your use of the Internet and technology in the classroom or learning center, and to give you the skills and confidence to apply sound technology practices to your curriculum that positively impact the learning processes of your students.

Penn State offers a master’s degree in instructional systems -- educational technology and a Postbaccalaureate Certificate in Educational Technology Integration.
1. Master of Education in Instructional Systems — Educational Technology
This 33-credit program is intended for teachers interested in learning how to design and implement technology-based learning experiences and solutions that can impact the learning process of their students.
2. Postbaccalaureate Certificate in Educational Technology Integration
This 15-credit postbaccalaureate certificate best suits teachers and trainers interested in the integration of technology projects into their classrooms. With proper planning from a College of Education academic adviser, this certificate can fulfill almost half of your requirements for the master's degree, if you decide to apply and are accepted into the program.
Penn State is an Act 48-approved provider for Pennsylvania educators, so the courses for the master of education in instructional systems may count toward professional development hours.
The Master of Education in Instructional Systems — Educational Technology can help you develop and assess the impact of technology-based learning experiences. If you are an educator who is interested in designing, developing, and evaluating the impact of technology on learning, this program was designed for you. Access to students (in your classroom, school, or organization) is required to complete your course projects, which are a significant part of your curriculum.
Please note that this program does not lead to initial teacher certification, however, this program may help you to renew your certification. Check with your state's Department of Education for exact requirements for recertification.
