Certificate Programs in Applied Behavior Analysis

Penn State shares your mission to help make life better for children with special needs. We have expanded our special education offerings and now have 2 options in the area of applied behavior analysis.

Each option is designed to align with your current educational background and give you an opportunity to develop your skills and your credentials.

The certificates are designed to prepare participants for the national certification examinations sponsored by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board, Inc.® (BACB®).

Choose the Right Program for You:

We offer 2 options for educators or other professionals in the field who want to develop their skills in the area of applied behavior analysis:

  • Board Certified Associate Behavior Analyst Certificate Program—This 12-credit series of courses is designed for those who have earned at least a bachelor's degree and who wish to continue their professional development in the area of applied behavior analysis. The curriculum is designed to prepare you to sit for the BCABA certification examination sponsored by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board, Inc.® (BACB®). View the program curriculum.
  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst Certificate ProgramThis 15-credit series of courses is designed for those who have earned a master's degree and seek advanced knowledge in the field of applied behavior analysis. The curriculum is designed to prepare you to sit for the BCBA certification examination sponsored by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board, Inc.® (BACB®). View the program curriculum.

  • benefit from a newly updated curriculum that meets the course work requirement for certification by the BACB®
  • earn graduate credits and meet various certification requirements, including Pennsylvania Act 48 requirements
