- a road map of the change initiatives required to reach that future state
- the requirements, principles, standards, and guidelines that will steer the implementation of change initiatives

Penn State's College of Information Sciences and Technology is a leader among an emerging group in higher education known as i-schools, or information schools. Who Should Apply?
The Master's in EABT is a unique program designed for experienced professionals currently working in the IT field who are responsible for, or who will be responsible for, business strategy and vision. A successful applicant should have a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience and a bachelor's degree in information technology, business, or engineering; bachelor's degrees from other disciplines may also be accepted, depending on professional experience. The courses are offered in a flexible, online delivery format to meet the needs of postgraduate students who are employed full-time and unable to re-locate to earn advanced academic credentials.
The program provides a comprehensive educational experience in the principles and practice of enterprise architecture (EA) and integrates both business and enterprise technical knowledge. The program includes courses in enterprise architecture foundations, business architecture, information technology architecture, enterprise security and risk architecture, organizational leadership, strategic management, and financial management. Courses
The Master's in EABT program offers you a comprehensive education in the principles and practice of enterprise architecture by integrating strategic, business, and technology planning methods. You can acquire the ability to understand, analyze, justify, and communicate solutions throughout your course of study, and you can complete the 33-credit online master's degree program in as little as two years on a part-time basis.
The required course of study includes:
- enterprise architecture foundations
- enterprise architecture tools and practices
- enterprise modeling
- enterprise information technology architecture
- enterprise architecture leadership and decision making
- project and portfolio management
- understanding complex organizations
- cost and value management
- corporate, business, and project strategy
Electives courses are available in:
- business architecture
- project management
- security architecture
- supply chain
Up to 10 graduate credits may be transferred into the program from an accredited institution (as permitted by the Graduate School). At least 18 credits must be in courses at the 500 or 800 level, with at least 6 credits at the 500 level.
Please note that as per the Graduate School transfer credit policy, credits that have been applied toward the degree requirements for a previous degree, whether at Penn State or elsewhere, may not be applied to degree requirements for a graduate degree at Penn State.

Graduate tuition is calculated based on the number of credits for which you register. Tuition is due shortly after each semester begins and rates are assessed every semester of enrollment.

Admissions Help
Admission to the MPS in Enterprise Architecture and Business Transformation program is competitive. A faculty-led admissions committee considers all submitted materials and makes admissions decisions based on the strength of the candidate's credentials. Limited spaces are available. Admission Requirements
For admission to the Graduate School, an applicant must hold either (1) a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited U.S. institution or (2) a tertiary (postsecondary) degree that is deemed comparable to a four-year bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited U.S. institution. This degree must be from an officially recognized degree-granting institution in the country in which it operates.
All applicants are expected to have earned a junior/senior grade point average of 3.0 or higher. A minimum of 2 years relevant work experience is recommended.
What You Need
Applications are submitted electronically and include a nonrefundable application fee. You will need to upload the following items as part of your application:
Official transcripts from each institution attended, regardless of the number of credits or semesters completed. Transcripts not in English must be accompanied by a certified translation. Penn State alumni do not need to request transcripts for credits earned at Penn State, but must list Penn State as part of your academic history. If you are admitted, you will be asked to send an additional official transcript. You will receive instructions at that time.
GPA and Test Scores — Official GRE test scores will be considered if submitted, but are not required. GRE scores can be submitted using Penn State's Institutional Code — 2660. Successful applicants are expected to have an overall GPA of 3.00 (on a 4.00 scale) or higher for their undergraduate study (and/or graduate-level studies). However, accomplishments demonstrated through work experience and recommendation letters from an applicant's academic adviser or employer will also play an important role in the admission decision. A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience is recommended.
English Proficiency — The language of instruction at Penn State is English. With some exceptions, international applicants must take and submit scores for the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or International English Language Testing System (IELTS). Minimum test scores and exceptions are found in the English Proficiency section on the Graduate School's "Requirements for Graduate Admission" page. Visit the TOEFL website for testing information. Penn State's institutional code is 2660.
References (3) — You will need to initiate the process through the online application by entering names, email addresses, and mailing addresses of three professional contacts. Upon submission of your application, an email will be sent to each contact requesting they complete a brief online recommendation regarding your commitment for success in an online program. Dr. Brian H. Cameron is the associate dean for Professional Graduate Programs and a clinical professor of information systems in the Penn State Smeal College of Business. Dr. Cameron is also the founding director of the Center for Enterprise Architecture in the Penn State College of Information Sciences and Technology and the founding president of the Federation of Enterprise Architecture Professional Organizations (FEAPO). He has worked with a wide portfolio of companies on a variety of consulting engagements, ranging from systems integration projects to enterprise and business architecture planning and design. Dr. Cameron has consulted with Accenture, AT&T Wireless, Avaya, Boeing, EMC Corp., Lockheed Martin, NSA, Oracle, Raytheon, U.S. Marine Corps, and many others. He has served on the boards and working committees of several international professional organizations and journals and is a special academic adviser to the Business Architecture Guild. Dr. Cameron’s current research focus is effective value measurement for enterprise and business architecture.
