If you have a specific interest in sustainable living from a systems-based approach, the Minor in Earth and Sustainability could be an excellent course of study for you. As a student in the program, you will focus primarily on the interface between Earth science and policy, gaining critical insight into how societal choices impact our increasingly overcrowded planet and its natural resources — and what some experts believe is the most critical crisis of the millennium.

This 18-credit minor is aimed at developing systems thinking, complexity, prediction and forecasting — all culminating in a final capstone course, Earth Modeling. Adding this minor is an effective way to gain a sense of social responsibility and bring depth to your résumé.

This online program was made possible, in part, by the National Science Foundation to introduce more students to the geosciences and the importance of sustainable living.
