Whether you're looking to move into a leadership role or deepen your technical expertise, Penn State’s new online Master of Computer Science is designed to help working professionals grow — without putting their careers or personal lives on hold.
This 30-credit program is fully online and asynchronous, and students will be able to start during any Penn State semester so they can learn on their schedule.
A hands-on, all-systems approach to real-world learning
Through the course work, students will have the opportunity to gain practical experience in high-demand areas like artificial intelligence, cloud computing, data science, and full-stack development, guided by Penn State faculty.
“This new master’s in computer science is built for hands-on learning, with students applying what they’re learning through real-world projects,” said Raghu Sangwan, a Penn State professor of software engineering who is the lead faculty member of the new computer science master’s degree program. “Students will learn to build full-stack AI and machine learning applications, manage big data, and design secure, cloud-based systems. This is ideal for forward-thinking professionals who want to advance their careers and lead innovation in today’s fast-changing tech world.”
Courses blend theory on topics such as algorithms and programming, big data systems, and machine learning systems with applied projects, culminating in a capstone course in which students build a fully functioning product.
