Important Updates!

Penn State Computer Access Account Acceptance Statement

A Penn State Computer Access Account provides you with a userID and password that authorizes you to get into your on-line courses, University Libraries resources, and our on line registration system. It also provides security for University computer and network resources.

In the past, Penn State students have been asked to review Penn State policy AD-20 and an EDUCOM statement and click on the appropriate box during registration to indicate agreement to follow those stated rules and regulations. Now you must provide Penn State with your actual signature. The easiest way to accomplish this is to print off our Penn State Computer Access Account Acceptance Statement, complete and sign it, then fax it to us at 814-865-3290.

For more information, visit our Computer Access Accounts page.

Attention Mac Users

If you are using Microsoft's Internet Explorer (IE), please be advised that Explorer is no longer compatible with Angel, our course management system. We now recommend that students with Apple systems use either Mozilla (OS 9.x) or Safari (OS X) as their Internet browser. Also, Microsoft is phasing out support of IE for the Mac environment; however, current versions of Netscape will still operate fine with Angel and your Mac.

JourneyEd.com Provides Software to World Campus Students

One of the benefits of being a registered Penn State student is that you are eligible to receive educational discounts on many software titles. If you would like to purchase software, you may do so through the software vendor JourneyEd.com. Simply go to the JourneyEd.com Web site and select Pennsylvania as your state. Then scroll through the list of colleges and universities and select the link for Penn State University - World Campus. It will take you to a page containing priority code BN 898. From there you can search for the software you wish to purchase. We suggest that you review the Agreement Forms at JourneyEd.com so that you are aware of any additional criteria that may apply to the purchase of specific software packages.

Once you locate the software you want to purchase, you can proceed to check out. To check out, you will first need to create an account at JourneyEd.com. Also, while you may go ahead and place your order, it will not be completed until you provide JourneyEd.com with proof of enrollment. Two kinds of enrollment verification are acceptable:

  1. Any registered Penn State student may obtain enrollment verification information online through the Office of the University Registrar. To do so, go to the Penn State Registrar Web site and select “Verify Enrollment/Degree Immediately” on the right side of the screen. Enter your Social Security number and last name, and print your verification. (Note that the enrollment verification portion of the site is secure, and that your full Social Security number will NOT be displayed in the resulting confirmation document.)

  2. Students registered in World Campus courses that have an 8-month timeframe receive a letter from World Campus Student Services that includes the student name and course start and end dates (students enrolled in semester-based courses do not receive such a letter).

Either of these two forms of enrollment verification may be scanned and e-mailed to JourneyEd.com at proof@journeyed.com; or you may fax a copy to 972-245-3585. Any questions you may have regarding purchasing software from JourneyEd.com should be directed to JourneyEd.com Customer Support at 1-800-874-9001.
