In your first year you will study the fundamentals and integration of business areas. This will give you the foundation for developing additional strategic business skills in the 2nd-year course work. The residency experiences at the end of the 3rd and 8th terms will give you an opportunity to further hone your skills while networking with and learning from your peers and Penn State faculty.

IMBA 501 Markets, Industry Analysis, and Business Strategy
How markets determine prices and activity in the business firm; the firm's microeconomic and macroeconomic environments; formulation of competitive strategy.

Introduction to financial systems and reports; development of ability to analyze financial information, apply financial tools, and communicate financial information.

Applications of statistical methods in business management: selection of methods, interpretation of results, and presentation.
