ADTED 456	Introduction to Family Literacy Explores the rationale for and characteristics of comprehensive family literacy, focusing on the families served, services provided, outcomes achieved, and the roles and responsibilities of the individuals, organizations, and communities involved.	3 credits
ADTED 457	Adult Literacy Adult literacy issues and practices as they relate to adults in their role as parents; survey of adult basic and literacy education programs and best practices; application of recent research on adult and family literacy programs and practices.	3 credits
ADTED 458	Early Literacy Development and Parental Involvement Focuses on young children's language and literacy development, including ways that parents and staff support this development; research related to children's learning; and ways in which family literacy supports early literacy development.	3 credits
ADTED 459	Interactive Literacy: Parents and Children Interactive literacy activities encourage language and literacy development by integrating language, reading, and writing/drawing processes. Instructional strategies, procedures, and methods are described and illustrated so that family literacy and early childhood educators learn to develop and implement intentional/planned language and literacy learning experiences.	3 credits
