Registration Deadlines for Most Courses
Fall 2012
Student Registration Deadline — September 4

Students are asked to check the course schedule for details about the specific course for which they are registering. Some courses start/end independent of the dates listed above. Students are encouraged to register prior to the first day of class.
Prerequisites
For admission to Penn State's Graduate School, an applicant must have received, from an accredited institution, a bachelor's degree with requirements substantially equivalent to those at Penn State. (Penn State is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.) All applicants are expected to have earned a junior/senior grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Statement of purpose
Three letters of recommendation
Writing samples
Two official transcripts from each institution attended
Official GRE or MAT scores
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score, if applicable. TOEFL scores must be submitted by all international applicants unless otherwise specified. Please see the Language Proficiency section of the International Students page of the website for undergraduate and graduate program requirements. When all materials have been received, we will notify you about your status and provide guidance about the next steps in becoming a Penn State student.
How to Apply
To apply to this program as a degree student, you must complete the graduate school application.
Applying to the Master's Degree
- Read the admissions requirements.
- Begin the graduate school application.
- On the "Admissions and Program Information Portal" page, choose "Apply Now."
- When you get to the "Campus, Major, Degree & Semester" page:
- Choose "WORLD CAMPUS" as the campus.
- Choose "CURRICULUM AND INSTRUCTION" as the major.
- Choose "M ED" as the degree.
Applying as a Nondegree Graduate Student
To begin taking courses right away, apply as a "nondegree" graduate student. You may take up to 15 credits in nondegree status before submitting your application portfolio.
Note: If you apply as a nondegree graduate student, you must re-apply to the master's degree to be considered for admission into the Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction degree program.
