Course Description

Data Mining tools are exploring data with regression, PCA, discriminateanalysis, cluster analysis, classification and regression trees (CART).

Prerequisites

There are no prerequisites for the course.

Sample Course Syllabus

You can view a sample course syllabus and a sample lesson for details of lessons and assignments for this course. (Note: this link will open in a new window.)

Costs and Fees

This course will be included in your semester bill.

Remarks

Data Mining methods are introduced by using examples to demonstrate the power of the statistical methods for exploring structure in data sets, discovering patterns in data, making predictions, reducing the dimensionality by PCA for visualization of high dimensional data. Exploratory data analysis, classification methods, clustering methods, and other statistical and algorithmic tools are presented and applied to actual data.
