Course Description

A theoretical treatment of statistical inference, including sufficiency, estimation, testing, regression, analysis of variance, and chi-square tests.

Strong writing skills are recommended for this course. If English is not your native language, it is important that you read additional information regarding English language proficiency before registering for this course.

Remarks

STAT 414 and 415 use the same textbook. Stat 415 follows the content covered in STAT 414 and focuses the theoretical treatment of statistical inference, including sufficiency, estimation, testing, regression, analysis of variance, and chi-square tests.

Software Requirements

Requires: Students should have access to the Minitab statistical software package. (Although students will be allowed to use other mainstream statistical packages, such as SAS, SPSS, and R, the methods in the course will be demonstrated using only Minitab.) Students will need to have Microsoft Word 2003 or higher to complete this course. If you do not have Microsoft Word you can purchase the latest version through Journey Ed (www.journeyed.com) or a vendor of your choice.
