Course Description

Understanding and applying methods and hands-on experience with techniques used in community and economic development. Lab.

Strong writing skills are recommended for this course. If English is not your native language, it is important that you read additional information regarding English language proficiency before registering for this course.

Remarks

This course is application-oriented to provide experience in using relevant tools and techniques to obtain, use and disseminate information for community development. It also includes information on the ethics of this type of research. While the focus is primarily on data and tools available for the analysis of communities in the United States, the methods and techniques have broad applicability for other countries. Participation in the discussion forums is an essential element of this course.
