Course Description

Theory and applications of requirements elicitation, analysis, modeling, validation, testing, and writing for hardware and software systems.

Strong writing skills are recommended for this course. If English is not your native language, it is important that you read additional information regarding English language proficiency before registering for this course.

There are no prerequisites for the course.

Remarks

This course is a thorough treatment of the theoretical and practical aspects of discovering, analyzing, modeling, writing, validating, and testing requirements for systems of all kind, with an intentional focus on software-intensive systems. The course will bring to play a variety of formal methods, social models, and modern requirements engineering tools and techniques to be useful to the practicing engineer. In addition to reading current literature and working various exercises, students will work in teams to develop a complete, and thoroughly validated and tested systems requirements specification.


This course is part of a cohort program and is only available to students accepted into the Master of Engineering in Systems Engineering program - cohort 11.
