Course Description

Supervised student activities on research projects identified on an indivdual or small group basis.

Strong writing skills are recommended for this course. If English is not your native language, it is important that you read additional information regarding English language proficiency before registering for this course.

Remarks

This is the first part of the capstone course for the IST MPS IS Program. Students will learn the fundamentals of developing a research question, writing a formal literature review, planning their sampling, choosing their data collection methods and their data analysis methods. Students will also consider human subjects and academic integrity issues as they relate to the ethical conduct of research. In this 2 credit course, emphasis will be on practicing and iteration to improve learning.
