Course Description

Probability spaces, discrete and continuous random variables, transformations,expectations, generating functions, conditional distributions, law of large numbers, central limit theorems. Students may take only one course from STAT(MATH) 414 and 418.

Strong writing skills are recommended for this course. If English is not your native language, it is important that you read additional information regarding English language proficiency before registering for this course.

MATH 230 or MATH 231

There will be five (5) proctored exams.  The proctor process is managed by the Statistics Department.

Exam 2: June 8-June 13
Exam 3: June 24-June 29
Exam 4: July 11-July 16
Final: August 5-August 6

The official prerequisites are Math 230 (Calculus and Vector Analysis) and Math 231 (Calculus of Several Variables). If it has been some time since you've studied calculus, you might want to get yourself a good reference and do some quick reviewing. The calculus techniques most frequently used in the course include: differentiation, integration, series, and limits.
