Course Description

Applying atmospheric principles to small-scale weather systems, with an emphasis on the conceptual modeling and short-range prediction of severe thunderstorms.

Strong writing skills are recommended for this course. If English is not your native language, it is important that you read additional information regarding English language proficiency before registering for this course.

Remarks

This course is similar in workload to METEO 101 and METEO 241 and requires students to spend at least 3 hours working online each week. The course has weekly assignments, one quiz for each lesson, and three e-portfolio assignments. There are no textbooks required for this course. A grade of C or better is required for completion of the Weather Forecasting Certificate.
