Students have two options for purchasing the textbook:

Purchase a print on demand textbook, Art Fundamentals (ISBN 9780073386294) from McGraw Hill.

Purchase  the eBook, Art Fundamentals  (ISBN  9781121478657) from McGraw Hill Create. When using this option, be sure to search using the ebook ISBN.

The nature of this studio course is to provide the student with hands-on activities, to promote literacy and sensitivity to both two-dimensional and three-dimensional works of art. To reinforce this interaction with art, students will be required to invest their time in learning about the contextual influences of art, the visual languages and organizational systems of art, and the various processes of studio work to create art. The incorporation of gallery and museum visits is encouraged to further extend upon the students' knowledge and interaction with various cultural contexts, artistic genres and the corresponding works. As a general appreciation offering, emphasis is placed on the active learning process to further involve students in the basic material and techniques of the visual arts. Students enrolled in this online course will be required to participate in studio assignments, contextual influences of history and contemporary culture, visual languages and organization systems related to the visual arts, and studio processes with materials and techniques.
