Course Description
Selected principles and applications of chemistry. Prior study of chemistry is not assumed. Students may take only one course for General Education credit from CHEM 101 or CHEM 110.
Prerequisites
MATH 021; or satisfactory performance on the MATH FTCAP examination-- i.e., placement beyond the level of MATH 021

Remarks
For the two midterm exams and the proctored final exam, students are allowed to print out "Useful Information" including a periodic table, a list of key equations, and a solubility table via the "Exams" link in the left hand side menu in ANGEL. The calculator is not carried by MBS Direct for this course. For students who plan to graduate this semester, please communicate your intent to graduate to your instructor. Requires: A suitable scientific calculator (with scientific notation and log functions) is essential. Calculators with text-storage capabilities will NOT be permitted for use on exams. Additional materials for labs will need to be purchased from local stores.
