Project-based capstone course for application of nursing concepts to health promotion/disease prevention in populations.

NURS 417; and current and valid RN license

Remarks
Course was previously number NURS 418. Project-based capstone course for application of nursing concepts to health promotion/disease prevention in population. This is a 3 credit hour course -- 1 credit (seminar) and 2 credits (clinical practice). The seminar portion of the course (30% of grade) is designed around themes that allow for critical examination of current health issues that are pertinent to family and population nursing practice. Clinical time (70% of grade) will be comprised of the following activities: Community-based individual intervention: 15 clinical hours. Community-based family intervention: 15 clinical hours. Student-designed population intervention project: time commitment totaling 60 hours (time spent in all phases of the nursing process count as clinical time). There can be co-enrollment with one other clinical course. For students who plan to graduate this semester, please communicate your intent to graduate to your instructor. This will alert your instructor to the need to submit your final grade in time to meet the published graduation deadlines.Schedule This Course
