Course Description

Quadratic equations; equations in quadratic form; word problems; graphing; algebraic fractions; negative and rational exponents; radicals.

Prerequisites

MATH 004 or satisfactory performance on the mathematics FTCAP examination

The mandatory text which is required for the course is: "Intermediate Algebra, 2nd edition" published by McGraw-Hill, 2010. Authors: Julie Miller, Molly O'Neill, and Nancy Hyde. The hard copy ISBN: 9780077332112 may be purchased from a vendor of your choice. Access to one-semester subscription of ALEKS combined with access to the eBook can be purchased through ALEKS (www.aleks.com) using the course code and instructions found in the Orientation materials. The price is $80 in total. This option is much less expensive than buying the book and the code separately. If you choose this option, please wait to make your purchase until the first day of class, as the course code for ALEKS will be provided in ANGEL when the semester starts. For students who plan to graduate this semester, please communicate your intent to graduate to your instructor. This will alert your instructor to the need to submit your final grade in time to meet the published graduation deadlines.
