Yana joined Penn State World Campus in 2003; prior to that, she worked for the Centre County government as a caseworker with parents and children.

She is a two-time Penn State alumna, with a bachelor’s degree from the College of Health and Human Development (which means she has had some of the same instructors as her students in human development and family studies!), and a master’s degree in counselor education from the College of Education.

In addition, Yana spent four years as an adviser with Penn State’s First-Year Testing, Counseling, and Advising Program (FTCAP). As the coordinator for Pi Delta Chi, the World Campus chapter of Alpha Sigma Lambda, she encourages every World Campus student to strive to become a member of this national honor society.

"Working with adult learners is an enjoyable experience; I admire their perseverance, dedication, and work ethic. World Campus students who have qualified for membership in our Pi Delta Chi chapter of Alpha Sigma Lambda are truly exceptional students, balancing work, family life, and community responsibilities while earning an outstanding GPA."
