Shannon joined Penn State World Campus in December 2007 as the social networks adviser. Previously, as an admissions counselor with Penn State Undergraduate Admissions for five years, Shannon was responsible for evaluating applications and communicating with prospective students about what Penn State has to offer.
Her World Campus responsibilities include using social networking sites and technologies (such as Facebook, twitter, Flickr, and Second Life) to create an online community for World Campus students, faculty, and staff that will provide opportunities for networking, communication, and friendship. Shannon will also be helping advise military veteran students.
A graduate of Penn State with a bachelor’s degree in health education, she is currently considering graduate course work in new media art and interactive game design.
