We are always in search of scholarship opportunities for Penn State World Campus students. As we confirm the eligibility of distance learners for scholarships, we will post the application information here. Past recipients of the scholarships described below have been awarded scholarships between $1,000 and $3,500.
Fischer Family Scholarship Program (Fall Semester 2010)
This scholarship is funded annually. All scholarship monies awarded will be deposited directly into the recipients' student accounts at Penn State.
Deadline for Fall 2010 Award
June 1, 2010 (postmark date)
Eligibility
Fischer Family Scholarship recipients must be students who:
- are currently enrolled in a World Campus undergraduate degree program
- have completed a minimum of 9 credits in their World Campus program
- have earned a cumulative 3.0 GPA (or higher)
- can demonstrate financial need (online FAFSA form)
Application Checklist
All application materials must be mailed in the same envelope. Incomplete application materials and materials that arrive separately will not be considered.
- Completed and signed Fischer Family Scholarship application form
- Personal statement (500-word limit)
- A copy of your FAFSA must be on file with the Office of Student Aid (online FAFSA form)
- One letter of recommendation. The letter must be a professional reference and on official letterhead.

World Campus Student Fund (Spring/Summer Semester 2011)
This scholarship is funded annually by World Campus staff members and students who understand that financial aid is not always available to distance learners — and when it is, the eligibility requirements are often difficult to meet. All scholarship monies awarded will be deposited directly into the recipients' student accounts at Penn State.
Deadline for Spring/Summer 2011 Award
September 30, 2010 (postmark date)
Eligibility
World Campus Student Fund recipients must be students who:
- are currently enrolled in a World Campus undergraduate degree program
- have completed a minimum of 9 credits in their World Campus program
- have earned a cumulative 3.0 GPA (or higher)
- can demonstrate financial need (online FAFSA form)

- Response to one of three essay questions (500-word limit)
- A copy of your FAFSA must be on file with the Office of Student Aid (online FAFSA form)
- One letter of recommendation, signed, and sealed in its own envelope. The letter must be on official letterhead if your reference serves in a professional capacity (e.g., supervisor, pastor, education counselor, superintendent).

Trustee Scholarship Program (Fall Semester 2010)
Eligible students demonstrating financial need as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) will be contacted with instructions on how to apply for a Trustee Scholarship for the fall of 2010. Eligible students will be contacted by e-mail by May 15, 2010, with instructions on how to apply.
