Leslie joined the World Campus advising team in May, 2009. Before coming to Penn State, she worked as a medical social worker, mental health counselor, and caseworker for people with disabilities from ages 6 to 100.
Leslie holds a bachelor of science in rehabilitation services education from Penn State and master's in social work from Temple University. She earned both as an adult learner while working full-time and is familiar with the struggles of balancing family, a full-time job, and finding the financial means to continue an education.
Outside of work, Leslie enjoys spending time with her daughters, whose sports, baking, and social activities keep her busy. She also volunteers for Girls Scouts of the USA, Special Olympics, and the Alzheimer's Association and contributes to animal rescue organizations.
"Whether related to physical or mental disabilities or financial struggles, I am passionate about advocating for those who face difficult challenges — from them, I have learned much about persistence, patience, and rewards of overcoming formidable obstacles."
