Karen has been an academic adviser with Penn State World Campus since 1995. In addition, she is the advising representative on key teams such as the World Campus Enrollment Management Team and serves on the World Campus Student Fund committee, a group of volunteer staff members who raise and award scholarship monies for eligible World Campus undergraduate degree students.
Prior to joining Penn State, Karen was a counselor for the adult literacy/GED program offered by the State College (Pennsylvania) Area School District. She first worked with adult learners at Penn State Lehigh Valley, after earning a master's degree in counselor education from Lehigh University.
"Working with adult learners has been a rewarding experience. Having been an adult learner in graduate school, I know the struggles our students face while filling multiple roles. Their dedication, work ethic, and appreciation of the opportunity to continue their education keep the passion alive in me."
