How to Apply
Admission to this certificate program is simple. Applicants must have completed 60 credits with a minimum 2.0 GPA.
To apply:
- Complete the World Campus Online Application form
- Submit a copy of your undergraduate and graduate (if applicable) transcripts.
Completing Your Application
The first step for admission into the SAP certificate is to complete the World Campus online application form.
You will receive an e-mail from World Campus when you are accepted, and an adviser will be assigned to help you with course selection or any other questions you may have about your certificate program. Courses may be transferred into this certificate program from other regionally accredited institutions.
Submitting Your Transcript
To demonstrate that you have completed the required credits and have met the prerequisites for the program courses, you must next submit a copy of your undergraduate and graduate (if applicable) transcripts. You may submit a copy of your transcript(s) in any of the following ways:
- Scan your transcript(s) and e-mail as an electronic attachment to Stephanie Tyworth at sst3@outreach.psu.edu
- Fax a copy of your transcript to Stephanie Tyworth, Program Manager, World Campus, at 814-863-7042
- Mail your transcript to Stephanie Tyworth, The Pennsylvania State University, 222 Outreach Building, University Park, PA 16802
Please note that an unofficial copy of your transcript is acceptable for the prerequisite review.
All SAP Certificate courses have prerequisites that must be met before enrollment in the program. The prerequisites are:
MIS 204 Introduction to Business Information Systems (3 credits)
Introduction to the use of information systems in business organizations.
SCM 301 Business Logistics Management (3 credits)
Management of logistics/supply chain processes.
If you completed college-level courses that you believe are similar to the descriptions of either or both of the above prerequisites, you may want to include a brief note with your transcript that indicates the names and numbers of those similar courses, and provides an overview of their subject matter. We recommend that you use the official course descriptions listed in your institution's course catalog. These can typically be found at your institution's public Web site. The program faculty will review your courses and determine if they are appropriate substitutes for the prerequisites. Applicants who do not have the prerequisites, or equivalent substitutes, may take both courses from World Campus. MIS 204 is offered every semester and SCM 301 is expected to be offered in summer semester of 2010.
If you have questions about the submission of your transcripts or the SAP Certificate, please contact Rachel Zimmerman at rmz122@psu.edu.
