Getting Started

Apply online and select Master of Homeland Security in Public Health Preparedness as your program of interest.

You may take up to 9 credits toward this degree while you complete the degree application process. You must be accepted into the degree or certificate program to take any courses beyond 9 credits.

Please keep in mind that course enrollment is limited. Students already accepted into the degree and certificate programs will have an opportunity for early registration for courses. Prior or concurrent course enrollment during the degree application process does not guarantee admission to the degree or certificate program. Be sure to check with an academic adviser as you plan your course work.

Completing Your Application

To complete your application to the program, you are asked to submit the following:

  • Statement of purpose
  • Résumé
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • Two official transcripts from each institution attended
  • Official Graduate Record Exam (GRE) test scores
  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score, if applicable

Prerequisites

For admission to the Graduate School, an applicant must have received, from an accredited institution, a baccalaureate degree (3.0 GPA preferred on a 4.0 scale) with requirements substantially equivalent to those at Penn State. (Penn State is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.)
