Admissions

Getting Started

You may take courses toward this degree while you complete the degree application process. You may transfer up to 10 graduate credits from another accredited program into the degree program, with approval. Please keep in mind that course enrollment is limited and students with complete applications will be able to register for courses as soon as they open.

To complete your application to the program, you are asked to submit the following:

  • Statement of purpose
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • Official transcripts from each institution attended
  • Official Graduate Record Exam (GRE) test scores are NOT required. (If submitted, however, they will be considered.)
  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score, if applicable. TOEFL scores must be submitted by all international applicants unless otherwise specified. Please see the Language Proficiency section of the International Students page of the Web site for undergraduate and graduate program requirements. When all materials have been received, we will notify you about your status and provide guidance about the next steps in becoming a Penn State student.

Prerequisites

For admission to the Graduate School, an applicant must have received, from an accredited institution, a baccalaureate degree (3.0 GPA preferred on a 4.0 scale) with requirements substantially equivalent to those at Penn State. (Penn State is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.)

Our courses are designed to use technology in a way that enriches the learning experience and helps students communicate and collaborate with faculty and classmates in a productive and convenient way.
