Getting Started
Apply online and select Master of Professional Studies in Community and Economic Development as your program of interest.
You may take courses toward this degree while you complete the degree application process. You may transfer up to 10 graduate credits from another accredited program into the degree program, with approval. Please keep in mind that course enrollment is limited and students with complete applications will be able to register for courses as soon as they open.

Completing Your Application
To complete your application to the program, you are asked to submit the following:
- Statement of purpose
- Three letters of recommendation
- Two official transcripts from each institution attended
- Official Graduate Record Exam (GRE) test scores (preferred, but not required)
- Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score, if applicable
- Application fee ($45)

When all materials have been received, we will notify you about your status and provide guidance about the next steps in becoming a Penn State student.
Prerequisites
For admission to the Graduate School, an applicant must have received, from an accredited institution, a baccalaureate degree (3.0 GPA preferred on a 4.0 scale) with requirements substantially equivalent to those at Penn State. (Penn State is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.)
