This certificate program is designed for persons seeking additional certification in geriatric nursing and nursing education. Students entering the program must have received a master’s degree in nursing from an accredited institution.

The curriculum for the graduate certificate in geriatric nursing education consists of four 3-credit courses. The goal is to increase the number of qualified nursing faculty to teach geriatric nursing.

To earn this certificate, you must successfully complete:

  • 2 geriatric-intensive courses (6 credits)
  • 2 education courses (6 credits)

The courses are taught by graduate faculty from Penn State’s School of Nursing and College of Education. The delivery method combines Web and e-mail resources. Upon successful completion of the program, the student is awarded a certificate of completion.
