Prerequisites and Getting Started
Thank you for your interest in applying to the certificate program in geriatric nursing education. Admissions counselors are available to discuss with you your educational goals, financial aid options, and application deadlines.
Prior to admission, your transcripts will be evaluated by the Clinical Nurse Specialist option coordinator in collaboration with the admissions committee.
For admission to the Graduate School, an applicant must have received, from an accredited institution, a master’s degree (3.0 GPA* preferred, on a 4.0 scale) with requirements substantially equivalent to those at Penn State. (Penn State is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.)
* Professional experience will be taken into consideration for admission, and exceptions to the GPA requirement may be made for students with special backgrounds, abilities, and interests.
