Dr. Ross Brinkert

Dr. Ross Brinkert is an assistant professor of corporate communication at Penn State Abington and the lead faculty member for the Penn State World Campus’s undergraduate certificate program in corporate communication. He is also an experienced consulting and training professional. His primary area of interest is communication strategy inside organizations, especially as it concerns effective conflict communication and leadership development.

Dr. Brinkert is the author of "Conflict Coaching: Advancing the Conflict Resolution Field by Developing an Individual Disputant Process," in the Conflict Resolution Quarterly (2006), and a co-author of the book Conflict Coaching: Conflict Management Strategies and Skills for the Individual (Sage, 2008). He received his doctorate in communication sciences from Temple University.

Lisa Chewning

Lisa V. Chewning is an instructor in corporate communication at Penn State Abington and a faculty member for the Penn State World Campus’s undergraduate certificate program in corporate communication. Her background experience includes a fellowship in the corporate communication department at Johnson & Johnson World Headquarters, where she worked on the corporate Web site as well as a number of intranet sites. Additionally, she has served as the project manager for two health campaigns funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Ms. Chewning has co-authored articles in Health Marketing Quarterly (2008) and Health Communication (2007), as well as a chapter in the book A Death Retold: Jesica Santillan, the Bungled Transplant, and Paradoxes of Medical Citizenship (2007). She is completing her graduate work at Rutgers University. Her area of focus is organizational communication, with a specific focus on interorganizational networks.
