Designed in cooperation with the Penn State Gerontology Center, the certificate program in adult development and aging services can give you a well-rounded understanding of issues regarding aging. The program is designed for personnel employed in area agencies concerned with aging, nursing homes, assisted-living facilities, and other institutions for the aged, as well as public welfare and family services agencies, and mental health facilities. It can also benefit business and industry leaders who interact with older consumers and employees.
The courses in this 15-credit program can also be applied toward degrees such as the associate degree in human development and family studies (adult development and aging option) or a bachelor's degree in one of several fields.
