Dietary Manager Certificate Program Graduates Boast 100 Percent Pass Rate
Friday, January 23, 2004
University Park, PA-The Dietary Managers Association reports that Penn State Dietary Manager Certificate Program graduates who took a certifying exam last fall had a 100 percent pass rate. The national pass rate for the exam was 74 percent.
The 30-year-old program-which is delivered via the World Campus, the University's online distance education initiative-has had a 100 percent pass rate for the last two years and is consistently in at least the 90th percentile, reported Janet Raytek, Dietary Manager Program Director.
The program teaches students to become managers in the health care food services industry. "It offers a second-chance opportunity to people already working in health-care food services," said Raytek. "Students are mostly women with grown children, and now it's their turn to get an education."
Currently students from 30 states are enrolled in the program, which can lead to an associate's degree that is also available through Penn State's World Campus.
