Penn State was selected as one of the original institutions to participate in a consortium of 28 colleges and universities to provide online education to soldiers in the United States Army. Penn State was awarded a multiple year contract because of our reputation as a leader in the delivery of distance education. This relationship has extended our Penn State online education to deployed soldier-students around the world. |
| Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges (SOC) |
Penn State is a member of the Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges (SOC) which supports military education to the services. As a member of SOC, Penn State has agreed to a set of principles and policies that assure flexibility to servicemembers, their families, and veterans seeking college degrees. |
| Defense Acquisition University |
Penn State has developed a strategic partnership with the Defense Acquisition University (DAU) which provides training and education to the 134,000 Acquisition, Technology and Logistics (AT&L) workforce of the United States Department of Defense. This partnership endorses the following World Campus online education programs: Certificate in Supply Chain and Information Systems; online MBA, online Master of Project Management degree. Penn State was selected as a strategic partner because of our reputation in the area of supply chain management. |

The Penn State World Campus is one of about 100 higher education institutions invited by the United States Army to participate in the GoArmyEd portal. The portal serves as the virtual gateway for soldiers on active duty to select a college. Soldiers can choose a course of study, register for courses, and access tuition assistance benefits. |
