Penn State Helps Army Recruits Move Toward College Education

» Ken Udas, director of the State University of New York (SUNY) Learning Network, has been appointed executive director of Penn State World Campus.

World Campus kiosk moved to Keller Building

The World Campus kiosk, previously located on the third floor of the HUB-Robeson Center, has now moved to the lobby of the Keller Building on the northwestern part of the University's campus. » The approximately 1,900 U.S. Marines currently enrolled at Penn State campuses will soon be joined by their colleagues on active duty, and their families, thanks to the Penn State World Campus's partnership with the Marine Corps branch of the Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges. More than 177,000 active-duty Marines and their family members can now enroll in the online bachelor of science degree program in organizational leadership and the associate degree program in hotel, restaurant, and institutional management. These programs will enable soldiers and their families to obtain a quality education while serving their country from locations around the world.

Online project management programs offer flexible learning environment

Penn State joins Natural Resources Distance Learning Consortium

» The Natural Resources Distance Learning Consortium, a joint venture between the U.S. Department of Agriculture and Virginia Tech's College of Natural Resources, has invited Penn State's World Campus to become one of its members. Membership in this partnership means that the University's online master's degree in geographic information systems is one of the programs deemed beneficial for natural resource professionals on the federal, state, and local levels of the USDA Forest Service and the U.S. Department of the Interior's Bureau of Land Management. Penn State is now one of five higher education institutions nationwide participating in the program.
